Over the last 15 years representing Calgary’s Ward 9, he has worked to build a city that is more connected, inclusive, and resilient. Through his “Great Neighbourhoods” vision, he expanded transit, renewed main streets, strengthened our river valleys, and reshaped how Calgary thinks about community by pressing for bold social change: ending conversion therapy, launching a public inquiry into systemic racism, and advancing equity, inclusion, and community supports for Calgary’s most vulnerable. He is a professional urban designer, and has a degree in History. He is passionate about community building, disc golf and coaching his son’s soccer team.
After 15 years of serving Calgary, Councillor Carra moved on from municipal politics in Oct 2025.
